UW-Madison’s carillon is on the larger side — made up of 56 bells — and makes up one of over 180 carillons in North America, and more than 450 elsewhere, according to The Guild of Carillonneurs in North America.
With all of the changes implemented, the Guild of Carillonneurs — the students who play the carillon instrument at the top of the tower — can expand their repertoire and have a fuller playing experience.
