Subaru outback driver window reset.
Going back the garage, I turn the push-button start to ON (rather than ACC), and used the passenger side window button to run the window all the way up, all the way back down, and then up again. Now the window operated normally from both the passenger's side button and the driver's side button. Mission accomplished. I chalked it up to a fluke.

If you've had a problem with the driver monitoring system, try to get it captured on video and sent in to SOA. In the meantime, this tip may help: Set the display at the top of the HMI to show the widgets screen. Change the widgets to display the "Fuel Cons." widget. This widget shows the active driver recognition profile at the bottom.

UPDATE: Yes, my Driver Monitoring System does occasionally turn off. This usually happens when the sun is hitting the sensor directly. Might also happen when the dash gets hot but can';t verify that. I haven't been able to find any reason for it, but every few months I'll be at a drive through or ATM and the window acts up. Symptoms: I try to roll down the window and nothing happens, it doesn't seem like it's straining ... I resolved it by doing the following: 1. start car. 2. lower driver's window all the way and hold the switch in the down position for extra 10 seconds. 3. raise window (2 inches at a time) until it is all the way up. Then hold switch in up position for 10 seconds.1. roll window down and hold switch 1 sec. 2 roll window up and told switch 1 sec. window should work as expected. Tried that, tried the owner's manual procedure (roll halfway down, roll back up and hold for 1 second) even tried rolling passenger side window down and holding for a couple seconds as outlined in some other similar posts.Outbackroo.
