The i90 1H (pre-buff) and 2H BLM weapons had the same the exact same weapon damage and, coupled with the appropriate shield, main stat. The only thing was they didn't put in an i95 shield to match the eventually buffed i95 Rod, though it was still vastly superior to use the i95 1H weapon with the i90 shield than the i90 relic.
