Water: 44°. Humps. Fished pool 9 from the dam down to Blackhawk park from 4/20 - 4/24. Very difficult with so much water and fast current. Had some success with the walleyes when we found some protected water with slower current. Fished the current seam with pink jig and half a crawler worked really slowly.

We managed 5 whites, 2 short eyes (once again losing a decent one boatside), and hooked what I presume were big pike as they burned a bunch of line off and cut off the crankbaits. I was using 20 lb mono leaders.Water: 74°. Fished the Oconto river for the first time 7.23.23 in the afternoon. I put in at the Hi Seas boat launch and fished up to Holtwood park in town. Caught a bunch of small perch, rockbass, and smallmouth with only one 12" smallie and one 15.5" smallie. Mostly threw jerkbaits targeting deep pockets/breaks with submerged structure.According to our creel survey in Superior and Port Wing, WI, the harvest was mainly comprised of age-4 fish, which ranged between 15-17 inches in 2022.
