The 30S with a flush 9 round mag is the same height as a XDS with a 5 round mag, is a bit wider, by about a quarter of an inch and is about half an inch longer. The trade off is significantly increased capacity. 23 rounds with a chambered round, flush mag and G21 mag as a reload.

They're quite different feeling and shooting guns. While the XD may give you a placebo safety, the Glock gives you a better finish, lower bore axis (less muzzle flip), simple breakdown. Confessed glock guy here. i flirted with a Springfield for IDPA a few years back but sold it and went back to glock. It rivals Glock in that aspect. I don’t find it that appealing. The slide is a little bit too tall for my taste. Overall the pistol just looks a little fat. The rear and front grips are alright, but there’s minimal grip on the sides.
