Jan 10, 2008 · The oil screw in lid that it has doesnt have a stick on the end to check it. There is a sight glass just below the oil filler. Just center the oil on the glass and you are good to go. On inspection the airbox has oil in it (quite a lot). The oil is pumping through the cylinder head breather hose. I am having a similar problem with my 2001 Bayou 220. I bought it in non-running condition, but the prior owner said it just died one day. The engine has compression of 165. Great spark with plug resting on head (no idea if that is true inside the cylinder) Cleaned the carb well, and it is getting fuel (plug will get wet if keep cranking)

If that's just a cover then yes, you can replace that grommet but what interest me is that it appears to be getting pressure in the crankcase and pushing the slung oil out. I would first ensure that the crankcase vent tube is open and is able to exhaust freely...its usually attached to the airbox.
