10 posts How long to stay??? 15 years ago Save Hi all, Traveling to Zion, Bryce, Arches and Grand Canyon this October. I have roughly two weeks to split between all the parks. We're into hiking and photography, but also looking for some relaxation. Any advice on how to split the time?There are some fluctuations due to rainfall and storms, but in general, this is the trend. The late summer and early fall months are the best times to hike the Narrows. Flow rates are generally low and temperatures are pleasant. We hiked the Narrows at the end of October and it was a phenomenal time to be in the park.The original 1860 potbelly stove still heats the Saloon today. The Saloon is also haunted as seen on the Travel Channel’s “Ghost Adventures”. Take lots of photos you may get a ghost! The Pioneer Saloon offers incredible food boasting a 10-page menu, 4 full service bars, great selection of craft beers on tap and live entertainment on weekends.The Springdale shuttle runs up to Bryce Canyon City just outside the park with the last part having a dedicated lane. Once there, it is a 5 minute walk to the visitor's entrance and over to the shuttle queue. Hurricane (pronounced Hur-kin) may have the more affordable hotels but for a more intimate and easier approach to the park I recommend staying in Springdale. You can take the shuttle into the park and wake up every morning to that beautiful view. Report inappropriate content. Zion will be at capacity in early October. That fact that the shuttle buses from the Zion visitor center are still operating in October is a good indication of the crowds. Avoid the weekend of October 13 - 15. We plan to drive to Zion the first day, with two nights booked at Zion NP Lodge. 11/18 one night in Bryce. Planning to do a few of the shorter (1-5 mile) hikes in Zion and Bryce. 11/19 and 11/20 are question marks.
