The issue is with s30vn vs s45vn and stuff like that. The difference is so miniscule that you can quite literally only tell under microscopes and test tubes. No normal person will be in a situation where coated s30vn will corrode, and not many are skilled enough in sharpening where the steel's softness or hardness will be noticed.
