The supersport will be more comfortable and can even fit bags if ya wanted to go somewhere for the weekend.. can be cheaper than the new V2s as well if you look around. V2 SF I'm sure would be a hoot just keep in mind it'd be primarily for short fun rips through the area or track days.If you want a naked or scrambler, then go for a used Monster (696 or 796) or Scrambler. V2 more mid range grunt. V4 more low end usability. V2 better sound, much tougher sounding. V4 higher revving, should sound kind of like a gp bike. V2 lighter while cornering. I'll say the Ducati feels faster but due to the different engine types it's a bit hard to say. The Ducati feels way more violent where the Honda was more refined, made 160hp from the back wheel so no slouch in that sense though. I've had a long list of bikes. Not cheap either, still likely an insurance claim. But cheaper than the Ducati. The maintenance isn't bad, the SuperSport's valve intervals are 18,000 miles vs 15,000 miles on the SV-650. You can do the oil changes on either at home if you want. Expect to pay around 200-300$ for an oil change if you don’t hit the 16k. Older Ducati’s require the desmo service at 7500k which is twice the frequency of newer Ducati’s. In comparison, my Harley costs 120$ per year to maintain as it needs no valve adjustment, no chain adjustment and only oil changes. It should be done every 15,000miles (not KM) on a Panigale (double check). I bought mine at 16,000. It hadnt had the Desmo service, so I said to the dealer do it for no extra cost and I'll buy the bike. It costs about 1000GBP but it is extremely thorough. xj2379 • 2 yr. ago.
